YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

A gift to the Foundation is a simple way to sow the seeds of charity now, and invest for the future. You may choose to give either designated or undesignated funds.

UNDESIGNATED FUNDS are unrestricted gifts, providing the Foundation with the greatest flexibility in selecting charitable causes based upon the most pressing community needs.

In addition to the personal rewards of sharing in the work of the Foundation, contributors receive tax advantages. The Lakewood Legacy Foundation is a qualified charity under Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3). A qualified tax advisor can help to ensure maximum benefits to donors who support the Foundation in the following ways:

DESIGNATED FUNDS allow you to choose the specific agency or purpose for which grants will be made. If the agency or purpose ceases to exist in the future, the Foundation will choose a recipient with a purpose close to your original intent.

CASH GIFTS - This is the simplest way to give. Your gift can be made in the memory of a loved one or in honor of a special occasion.

GOLF TOURNAMENT - The Links for the Legacy charity golf tournament is the major annual fundraiser for the foundation. There are various levels of sponsorships available. In addition to contributing to the foundation, you also receive promotional benefits.

APPRECIATED PROPERTY - Because the Foundation is a public charity, the full market value of your appreciated property is usually tax-deductible.

BEQUESTS - You may either give the Foundation a designated dollar amount, or name it as the beneficiary of your estate.

CHARITABLE REMAINDER TRUSTS - In this case, the Foundation receives the remainder interest of a charitable remainder unitrust or annuity trust. When the life interest of a donor or named beneficiary has been terminated, the assets representing the gift will be distributed to the Lakewood Legacy Foundation to be used as you prefer. The same gift will help provide financial security for a family member and assistance to the community.

LIFE INSURANCE - You may name the Foundation as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy. This way, you may receive an immediate tax deduction approximately equal to the cash surrender value of the policy.

TESTAMENTARY GIFTS - If you would like to make a donation upon your death, please use the following language in your will to designate the Lakewood Legacy Foundation as a beneficiary of your estate: "I hereby leave $____ to the Lakewood Legacy Foundation, 1580 Yarrow Street, Lakewood, CO 80214, to be used for their general purposes."
